Performancenter Racing Warehouse eNews   McCall wins the Huffman Memorial at Hickory Motor Speedway (July 11, 2009 - Newton, NC) Matt McCall, driver of the #23 Pistone LTO Cadillac, qualified second out of the thirty-four car field for the 177 lap Dwight Huffman Memorial Race at Hickory Motor Speedway on July 11, 2009. The second annual Dwight Huffman Memorial was raced in memory of the late Dwight Huffman. During the drivers introduction, the Renegade Challenge was offered to pole sitter Paddy Rodenbeck, giving him the opportunity to start from the back and double the winnings if he came back and won the race. After the Renegade Challenge was declined by Rodenbeck, second place qualifier, Matt McCall, eagerly accepted the challenge to start from the back and make it to victory lane in the 177 lap feature. As the green flagged waved, McCall started in the thirty-fourth position hoping to race his way through the field and avoid all of the major accidents. Throughout the entire race, McCall was a threat as he maked his way through the field. At the mandatory lap 150 caution, McCall was already in the lead. His odds of winning the race looked strong before going green for the remaining 27 lap shootout. Matt McCall and Steven Wallace raced a hard side-by-side race for the top spot for several laps, but McCall came out on top and ran away from the field. After qualifying second and starting dead last, McCall won the second annual Dwight Huffman Memorial and doubled the purse to $14,014 after taking the Renegade Challenge. Matt McCall was also awarded the Tommy Johnson's Performance Parts Warehouse Hard Charger. Matt McCall was followed by Paddy Rodenbeck and Pistone LTO driver David Wilson.
